It is an excellent opportunity to walk in the cool of the forest, to be so close to nature and to appreciate the varied plants, insects, birds, mammals and reptiles that inhabit this part of the country. Corbett National Park lies in two districts of Uttaranchal – Nainital and Pauri. It covers an area of 521 sq. km and together with the neighbouring Sonanadi Wildlife Sanctuary and Reserve Forest areas, it forms the Corbett Tiger Reserve of 1288 sq. km. In 1936, the park attained the distinction of the first national park to be established in mainland Asia.

Day 5: Camp to Dhikala range
After an early breakfast, leave Camp to go to the Forest Rest House at Dhikala range. The drive would be via Gharial pool, Champion pool and High Bank – each one of them, great observation points on the Ramganga river. After lunch at Dhikala, drive to the Dhikala “chaur” – grasslands, to observe the varied bird and mammal species found in the area. Birding in Dhikala is quite an attraction and species that can be observed here include Osprey, Peregrine Falcon, Cinereous Vulture, Red Headed Vulture, Pallas's Fish Eagle, Pied Harrier, Black Francolin, Tawny Pipit, Oriental Pied Hornbill, Slaty Headed Parakeet, Emerald Dove and Jungle Bush Quail. The day will end with a wildlife movie, dinner and overnight stay at the Forest Rest House in Dhikala.

Drive back to Camp after an early morning elephant ride in the jungles around Dhikala, a short game drive (time permitting) and breakfast with packed lunch. Corbett is home to animals such as the Bengal tiger, Asian elephant, chital, hog deer, sambar, barking deer, monkeys, leopards, otters, Asiatic jackal, crocodiles, fish such as masheer and a wide variety of birds.

Day 7: Camp to Delhi
Early morning, depart for a half-day game drive into Bijrani with a packed breakfast. You would be back in Camp by lunch, post which you could walk to nearby Bhakrakot village to observe the local lifestyles of the area. Visit the village school, local homes, the farms and cultivation around the village. As a whole a visit to the village helps one understand the methods of farming and cultivation, the local lifestyles, interaction with the local folks and to a certain extent, the many facets of India.
